Wrong Steering Box?

Installing a new ACDelco steering box on a 83Z. Didn't notice that this new one has 4 mounting holes/ears instead of three like my 86 Iroc, till I went to install it. The extra mounting hole is hitting the frame rail, preventing the rest from sitting flush against it. Part number on the box list: 36-0516561, which should be what I need. Stamping on the steering box is: 5687962. Either way it looks to be the wrong one, but want to make sure that the early thirdgens weren't different in someway.

Re: Wrong Steering Box?

My 82 had the three mounting ears. Looks like the wrong box.
