wheel hop issues
ran the 86 iroc at the track tonight first pass no issues and the next 2 all had some sort of wheel hop and sounds almost like a clunk from the rear end area when on staging lanes , I broke the tranny mount and replaced it before I raced but it still hasn't felt the same scince I broke it, it is a 5 speed car and when it was broke the shifter lifted up when driving it still seems to lift alittle not sure if that's normal , is the mount somehow still causing this even tho its not broke now or what else could be?

Re: wheel hop issues
If your car is lowered at all you need Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets. (LCARBS) The LCA needs to be at least parallel with the ground, if its on an upward incline from the chassis to the rear, it'll wheel hop just like you are experiencing.
If you're still at stock ride height, worn out old suspension parts might be the problem.

Re: wheel hop issues
Let's see,
stock worn out bushings on the rear control arms,
stock weak flexing stock control arms
worn shocks
worn torque arm bushing
These will all give you traction problems considering they are all probably 20+ years old with who knows how much milage.
Being a 5 speed, you need to really practice launching, and getting the proper launch tpm for your car, of course if your trying to launch hard on a worn out suspension with hard street tires, your wasting your time.
Rebuild the suspension with good aftermarket parts and ad some sticky tires, and before you know it, it will be hooking so hard you'll bog instead of hop, and you'll be breaking t-5's before you know it.
