Rear shock bolts

I just put a Ford 9" in my '89 firebird. It did not come with the lower shock bolts/mounts. I just tried to order through my local Chevy dealer with no luck. Does anyone know of a source to get these new? Yes, I could use a normal bolt to attach, but I figure GM designed these for a reason. Btw the car didn't have a rear-end in it so I can't salvage the used hardware from that. I would like to use new hardware after spending all the money on the diff anyway. Thanks in advance.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Rear shock bolts

About every car made with shock brackets of that sort (A bodies, G bodies, B bodies, etc.) uses the same hardware.

Hit yer local buzzard.

Wire-brush it and paint it black, or even gold, if "new" is really that important to you. It's not like it "wears out" or anything. There's a time and a place for "new", for sure; that ain't it.

Re: Rear shock bolts

New bolts should come with new shocks, Monroe Matics ran me $48 a piece here in Hamilton.

As much as a dealer will try to charge you for a couple bolts you might as well get new shocks.

Re: Rear shock bolts

thanks for the help. I just purchased a cheap pair of shocks (40 for the pair) and used the hardware. beats rooting around in the dirt at the boneyard.
