Frame problems
I have an 82' camaro z28, I checked frame for breaking issues before I stabbed the motor back in because I know about the structural issues these cars have. My motor is a 92 camaro block 305 with a large cam, carb, and intake job, so I believe I'm pushing 200-250 horse now. The other day I didn't put two and two together and started doing seam sealer. After removing carpet and insulation under the driver side dash I noticed a hole about the size of a pea in the floor board. Apparently one of the frame spot welds have broke. I believe I may have caught this early, but what needs to be done? I have subframe connectors but I can't hook them up because my passenger exhaust is in the way. How can I end this process without spending $1500? You can see light in the dark if cab light is on from the engine compartment where frame is the hole is literally right below steering column bolts and entry hole.

Re: Frame problems
Impossible to guess from out here.
Could be anything from full-fledged west Michigan or west New York frame rot, to some stupid PO running a wire through some stupid place he shouldn't have.
All you can do at this point, is inspect every spot-weld you can get to, and repair as many as possible.

Re: Frame problems
It's not from someone, it's very rough to be from someone. I was thinking about taking two peices of thick plate conform it around the rail and taking some grade 8 bolts through them and bolting them up then running some welds. Like I said, it's only one spot weld, so I caught it early.
