Handling

Hi everyone. i just wanted to start off saying I LOVE the way these cars handle! Now i have a question. Ive seen a couple threads talking about how the 3rd gens handle better then the 4ths. I was wondering why they handled better, I thought they were similar chassis. Is there any differences in the suspension? I have an 89 RS and love it, and ive driven a 98 bird and it just dont feel the same.
Thanks, Justin.

THe front yes, the rear not so much. Yeah the rates on the springs and sways are different, but otherwise the rear suspension is near identical with just a few exceptions.

3rd gens IMHO handle better on the low speed stuff. A properly set up 4th gen would kill it on the high speed handling. I own both and have street modified set ups on both. The 3rd gen "feels" like a lot more fun to me, but the 4th with konis is all business. As it stands I would want the 4th gen for a road race, and the 3rd gen for an auto cross. But either can be set up for either. The LS1 4th gen takes a lot less work$$ to go fast..
