Modernizing Steering Feel
I have a 91 Z28, with sphon K member, SFC's, Moog springs, and upgraded shocks/struts.
I am going for the protouring handling for my z28, and figured now is a good time to update the worn out suspension parts.
Newer cars have a much tighter feel. From lack of play in the steering, to requiring more effort to turn the wheel. IMO, both of those give the car a much sportier feel. What part requires the car to have more effort in order to turn the wheel? Steering box? Power steering pump possibly?
Before I order sphons front end rebuild kit, I was wondering if there is anything else out there that I should consider.

Re: Modernizing Steering Feel
Newer vehicles usually use a rack and pinion set up in place of a steering box. This provides a tighter better feel to the steering.
For greater effort need to change the steering box. Or rebuild your current one with a larger diameter torsion bar. The torsion bar is what controls the effort required to turn the steering gear.
The other upgrade is the Astro Van shaft and lower column bearing. This replaces the intermediate shaft that has the upper joint and the lower rag joint. There are several good threads on this.
