Subframe Connectors
Subframe Connectors
What Subframe connectors do you guys recommend for my car. I have a 1987 Chevy Camaro Z28 the car is being built for the dragstrip. I'm planning on running low 10s what are your thoughts. I thought about the Competition Engineering C3111 bolt in Subframe connectors and I wouled weld them in. What are your thoughts? And I am also gonna install a roll cage either an 8 point or a 10 point. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you

Re: Subframe Connectors
I also went with UMI but if you are going to weld in a cage why not make your own connectors? Fueled soul did a good write up on exactly how he did it with pictures. I will make my own inner set same way he did.

Re: Subframe Connectors
Alston Racing SFC's. I liked them so much that I started selling them when I began TDS. They tie the front and rear subframes from the shortest point possible, (hence the least weight). Also I like that the formed sheet metal cups on each end are press-fit onto your subframes on 3-sides when you install them providing a mechanical lock even before you weld them in. Yes I recommend to have them welded in, but these do come with bolts and nuts allowing them to be self-installed, then you can drive the car to a shop that has a welder when the budget allows.
