I have a 85 trans am that I have no RPO codes on and trying to confirm is or not a ws6 car. Car came stock with 305 TPI(LB9). 34mm front sway bar and 24 in the rear. 4 wheel disk and the performance suspension badge. Everything leans towards yes but my stock tire size is the 15" wheels. Did such a ws6 creature exist with 15s as stock?? One article I read said it was possible but not many confirmed cases.

Most T/As came w WS6.

However if you have 15" wheels yours was probably didn't, and was one of the lesser ones; or, somebody has swapped out the wheels. Bummer in either case. Sounds like it's time to get some halfway modern wheels that you can actually buy tires for in 2015.

Not sure what the big deal about "WS6" (buzzword) is? In 1987 might have been significant. In 2015 it's just a bunch of wore-out sagging sloppy bouncy no-control stock stuff same as any other suspension package. (except the sway bars, those don't wear out so much, just the bushings & end links)

Your springs & shocks are GARBAGE no matter whether WS6 or not. Throw em in the trash and start over.

Measure your sway bars with an open-end wrench and get the right bushings, and get end links in the 2½" - 2¾" range (nominal) for both ends, unless your new springs dramatically change the ride height; in which case, get end links that locate the bars more or less horizontal.
