choosing correct springs with ls1 swap
choosing correct springs with ls1 swap
Im going to redo the suspension on my gta with ls1 swap. When I did the swap last year the stock height spring gave it 60s gasser stance. I cut a coil off each front spring. It now has about stock ride height. I want to put dome good springs on it that will also put it closer to the ground. None of the front springs that I have seen are specially for an LS swapped car.

If all you want is to change your ride height, cut the springs more. It increases the spring rates as they get shorter anyway.
I've also never seen LS swap specific springs. I have GC weight jacks and they are set lower than before my LS1 swap to achieve the same ride height I had with the old cast iron SBC.
What do you use the car for? Street, strip, autoX?

I started autoXing on old stock suspension since then the suspension mods have spiraled out of control! I'd hate to see you buy springs now, get into autoX and then want to upgrade to weight jacks and buy springs twice.
Since you've already cut your springs, shouldn't be a big deal for you to do it again. I'd do that, and remember not to let the springs get hot when you cut them. Cutting the springs will raise your spring rates which is good for handling and of course, lower it to your desired ride height. Give autoX a try and go from there.
Best mods for autoX in order are:
1.Driver mod
2.Tires
3.Struts and shocks
4.Springs
Absolutely get a wonderbar!

I have autocrossed my 70 GSX but the GTA handles so much better.
I just thought I might want to change the springs while it's all apart.

Re: choosing correct springs with ls1 swap
I just replaced my old springs with the eibach sport lines. Stance is good but not specific to LS swap.
My old springs were very rusty, and since the rest of the front end was new I replaced them. Mine is just gonna be a street driver when I am done with the swap though too.
