Ouch what a pain the installation was. Definetly not for a street car that wants to keep the back seat installed, not that I recommend ladder bars for a street car anyway.
In order to install the ladder bars, the rear floor behind the front seats and under the rear seats needs to be cut up to let the bars go through. The diff in a third gen sits very high up in relation to the floor. To keep the bottom of the ladder bars parallel with the ground, the front mount point is almost inside the car. The way the floor is shaped, they will never fit without cutting up the floor. I cut up more than normal to allow room for front mount point adjusting.
I'm fortunate enough to have some custom made SFC to weld the ladder bar front crossmember to.
If the boss didn't take the shop's digital camera home for the holidays then I should have a bunch of pics available shortly on my web site.
The only thing left to do now is weld in a new floor section to cover everything up. I then push the car back out of the shop until I get a new driveshaft made after the holidays.
