Lowering ??
i am new to this website, I am thinking of lowering my 86 iroc around an inch and have read lowering 101 and other articles here about lowering, if i just go with springs and get the front end aligned, am i going to have many issues with the suspension or drive train? Many of you talk about just springs, have you had troubles? l lowered a 97 ford f150 with spring in front and hangers and shackles in back 3inches and never had any issues. any help or advice would be appreciated

Re: Lowering ??
I went as about a simple route as you could get at the time and that was to buy a set of the most available "lowering springs" that were out there. They were added to an OEM arrangement of steering parts. Nothing fancy and I drove it for miles that way.
That's to say that you won't have much more than just a lowered Camaro.
Your point about an alignment is well taken. From what I've learned here at thirdgen, the factory alignment specs aren't what's needed. Either on the street or otherwise. My first alignment job (after lowering) went with the OEM values and I burned the outside edge off of my front tires long before the rest of the tire. There are better specs available here too.
Oh yeah. Welcome to Thirdgen.

Re: Lowering ??
I've participated in a couple of threads about this.
The first link has a spec sheet posted.
The second link, you'll have to dig through it to get the values.

Something else you may want to consider with your lowered third gen.
