Re: Spohn Coil Overs

had a set I got rid of..after mocking them up for fit..(sold almost $900 with struts for $500 shipped) last week...

camber plates are tall...if your dropping the car down..they work good..
they do have a nice plate to help clamp the hats down..(I did buy a set of the plates)
to install on a better coil over set up ($50)

if you are looking for a bolt on to stock struts/parts or Lakewood struts..not a bad setup.. I got rid of mine as I wanted to drop a few more lbs off the car and upgraded to a more Sophisticated setup..and lighter aluminum struts. that I could set to even more weight transfer..from the Lakewood 90/10 struts I had..the set I went with is sold by founders..my total was $1249.15 shipped with the Viking Crusader strut..that includes founders camber plates..and the $150 upgrade to the Crusader strut..

Re: Spohn Coil Overs

just by switching to the Viking struts I dropped over 20 lbs..

I shipped a full sphon coil over set with Lakewood struts..54lbs
the full set up Viking struts and coil over kit 30lbs..

it all adds up..

Re: Spohn Coil Overs

I bought the sphon kit probably 8 years ago. I had to open up the holes the springs pass through so the strut could be moved around for alignment. I'm pretty happy with them but my car is pretty much street drivin only and I have nothing fancy to compare them to.

Re: Spohn Coil Overs

Unless it for strictly weight reduction and every other last ounce has beeen removed, they is no.hugh benefit to be had from coilovers front or rear. There is nothing magical about a coil over, its simple a shock/strut with a spring mounted over it. Its useful.for packaging in tight places or remote applications, but functionally they have very little difference to a.conventional spring and shock mounted separately.

Re: Spohn Coil Overs

adjustability in ride height is the big thing with a good coil over set up.. that and weight loss if the set has aluminum struts....for us guys with drag race set ups...ya cant beat them...with a good set up.. you can tune for the track that day.
