Bad Centerlink?
I replaced all the steering components about two years ago. Lately, the steering has felt abnormally loose.
With the car parked and running I had someone move the steering wheel back and forth while I watched the joints. I could see the pitman arm move about a 1/4” before the center link would move. Is this normal?

Yes that is "normal": for a failed center link. It's Abby Someone for a functional one however.

Good idea to check the idler arm as well. If you can move it 1/8" out more at the center link end with about 25lbs force replace it....
