Prepping to install SW 10pt
I am prepping my car for installing a SW 10pt roll cage, its a 1989 Formula 350 with T-Tops. Any advice or tricks fitting a cage in a third gen?
I have removed almost all the body sealer, cleaned everything up. Dash, wiring and all interior have been removed.
Thanks!

There is no specific locations that anything needs to be in. First of all you're going to need to weld the steel plates to the floor where you want the tubes to attach to. That means lots of grinding to get clean metal to weld to. The plates to not have to sit flat so they can be heated and bent to form around the sheet metal.
The most common location for the main hoop is on top of the hump behind the front seats. The rear tubes can be anywhere from the top of the shock top area all the way to the back of the car. Halo bar is almost a two man job since it needs to be held into position while being welded. Mine still allows me to open the t-tops if I have to. A-pillar tubes are normally positioned on the outside of the dash (depending on your kit) so that most of you legs are inside the cage.
Once the plates are welded in, the tubes need to be cut to length then welded to the tubes.

You might consider adding an extra permanent side bar, down low by the seat cushions. Basically a 6-point "street cage" that strengthens the chassis without being in the way like the higher swing out bar. You still need the higher swing out bar that meets rules at the drag strip.
