Do I have soft suspension?
Question I want to replace my steering gear box, But at Rockauto they have two different kinds, one for soft ride suspension and one without soft ride. How do I know which suspension type I have, if I have the stock suspension setup? Thanks

Do you have 15" wheels or 16" wheels called out on the tag in the door jamb?
Really doesn't matter, you want the quick ratio box regardless (ie F41 or FE2, not FE1) and there's a pretty good chance you'll get whatever when you buy a remann.
Trouble is that swapping the "good" thirdgen box has been a well known upgrade for all kinds of 60's and 70's GM cars, and when those people return their old box with school bus ratios, that's what gets rebuilt and sent out as the quick ratio box the next time.

It had 15" wheels, I upsized to 17". Thanks for the info, I'll be looking a that FE2 or F41.
