Crossmember bolts broken
Swapping motor out and busted a couple bolts for transmission crossmember. One of them broke off flush on subframe and other broke the welded nut inside off. Whats best way to attack this? Can i cut a slot in it to get a wrench or vice grip on nut to get it out? The other im assuming a good drill bit and then retap it?

Re: Crossmember bolts broken
Take out the seat(s), hole saw from above, weld in a new nut. Fill afterwards w/ plastic plug.
No sense in trying to mess with what's there now. It's a one-time-use-ONLY setup; STRICTLY for the convenience of the factory. It's amazing it ever works more than that.

I had thought of going at it from the top, but wasnt sure if it was worth the headache of pulling seats and carpet. I think i will do all 4 while im at it and be done and over with. Why do car manufacturers do stupid crap like that? Thanks for input
