bolts broken in the frame for the tranny crossmember

well i was pulling the motor out of my carand went to take off the transmission crossmember. i looked at it and only saw 2 bolts. Two of the bolts are broken in the frame. now there is a nut welded into the frame right?

so what do i do here? drill a hole in whats left of the bolt and use my "easy outs"?

any suggestions here?

I would attempt the easy out route, that or try to weld a nut onto whats left and take it out.

just drill the whole thing out, about 1/16 bigger than the original bolts, and tap it for a larger bolt....those threads strip out often anyways.

This happened to me too. I just took a 1" hole saw to the frame rail, and made an access to simply put a nut on the bolt. This is a regular problem on third gens...
