What Racing Struts and Shocks to Get?

I've gotten better at AutoX, time to ditch factory springs and dampeners.
Looking for front struts and rear shocks to match up with 1050Lb front & 200lb rear springs.
(NOT looking for coil-overs)
There are WAY too many options these days
I need some input from more experienced guys.
Options-

Front: (pair)
Koni Race Double adjustable with GC housings-$950 (GC claims to have valving for 3rd gens)
Viking pro-touring double adjustable-$850
QA1 double adjustable-$800
UMI race double adjustable-$1,900 (not sure if worth 2x the cost)
Detroit speed JRI struts double adjustable-$3,100 (out of my price range but worth mentioning)

Rear: (pair)
Viking double adjustable rear Pro-touring-$560
Koni yellows single adjustable $300
QA1 double adjustable rear-$500

Most people run Koni SA for autocross and it's what I'm buying.

UMI makes good stuff and tests but unless your going national I wouldn't pay the cost over Koni.

QA1/Viking are drag shocks so stay away.

Even the Viking shocks that are marked as autoX specific?

Viking Crusaders are able to be valved for auto-x.

Experts love to say QA1 and Viking are drag only.

QA1 to some extent and Viking to a LARGE extent are racing and improving their products so they are no longer drag only.

For the UMI Afco struts, we've only sold a few sets due to the cost but we have had great reliability and speed from Val Pichette's GTA on the national stage.

With those two things mentioned, still can't go wrong with Koni's either...

Viking has different damping curves for different applications.

Re: What Racing Struts and Shocks to Get?

Thx for the clarification.
It's hard to chose dampeners when 1/2 of the users hate em or love them.
(Many of the Vette guys seem to hate the Vikings on the forums)

I'm still stuck over the AutoX specific Viking rears and the Koni Yellows.
