Strut mount Recommendations

Just purchased my Koni's and want to compliment them with an aftermarket strut mount. My car currently has the stock spring that have been cut. I have searched the forum and found a lot of discussion regarding this topic.

I bought a soda today and wanted to compliment it with a cup of ice. There was a lot of discussion about it.

Pretty simple recommendation really. J&M Products or something nearly identical such as Founder's Performance. I don't know why Founder's is $50 cheaper. J&M does advertise made in the USA. Couldn't find anything similar from Founder's so maybe that's the difference?

Re: Strut mount Recommendations

I've looked at many but haven't found one that doesn't bother me from an engineering perspective. You have to remember the spring takes most of the down load, and the strut mount takes a large amount of the rebound load. Put another way the load on the upper strut mount is downward, but all the after market designs that I've seen are built to handle greater upward loads than downward.

Re: Strut mount Recommendations

Thanks for the recommendations, ill look into both of these brands. What I meant to initially say was that I found a lot of old discussion threads regarding the topic. But wanted to make sure I wasnt missing out on any new strut mount that I was not aware of.

Re: Strut mount Recommendations

The J&M and UMI strut mounts are basically the same.
Umi versions are 1/4 thick vs J&Ms 3/8in.
Detroit speed has a super trick set that allows you to change alignments on the fly, but they cost 2.5X as much.

Regardless of what brand, you will definitely like solid mounts.
They actually make your car ride smoother.
The stock mounts can flex upwards of 3/4in, that movement takes away from the dampeners ability to do it's job. Solid mounts puts all suspension movement into the strut.
