Santa arrived! Racecraft kmember and Viking Coil over struts
Got my new kmember and struts!
Super pumped to get these on my car.
I'm working on putting an engine midplate right now. Then I can start with the bling
Hoping this will drop significant weight off the nose and keep the car from going on the bumper.
Stock brakes to aerospace brakes (not in the pics above)
Weight savings of 3lbs / side = 6 lbs
OEM Front coil spring - 15lbs
RCI coil over spring = 3 lbs
Weight saving of both = 24 lbs
Total savings above are = 101 lbs
There is some misc things that are not accounted for:
added front and midplate,
stock steering arms to RCI shafts (don't know the difference yet)
need a stabilizer that goes from the engine to frame to stop the back and forth movement now I have plates.
I also removed the heater core, blower motor, wiring and plastic venting so there was another 25 lbs there.
I'll have to shift some weight around in the car to even it out
Last time at the track I was 3390lbs (with me in it) (cage, n20 bottle, fuel etc)
Re: Santa arrived! Racecraft kmember and Viking Coil over struts
very nice. good breakdown of hte components. What suprised me was the spring weights. I never weighed mine when they were out, but wow, 15 pounds each is a bunch.
Re: Santa arrived! Racecraft kmember and Viking Coil over struts
The results are in!
The new front coil overs, K-member, brakes and removal of the heater ducting and core took 114 lbs out of the car.
The above pic is my race weight, with me, 15lb nitrous bottle, 1/8 tank of gas, race bullet exhaust, safety stuff(helmet, jacket, pants, shoes)
Success!
