Parts Identification

I'm not quite sure where to post this, but this seems close enough. I bought my Firebird a while ago and only recently realized after pulling the engine for rebuild that there are parts missing. Looks like they connect the subframe to the frame. I'm new to cars and bad at explaining so I found a picture of an engine bay and circled the part. Is it necessary and what is it called so I can get one in there? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Parts Identification

I believe they are steering braces and they may not be in early model cars. They are beneficial. I am not sure where to buy a set though.

Okay, I did a little searching and they are called k member braces. There are a total of three of them, but I'm not sure of what nomenclature to use for the third brace. While you have the engine bay open, it would be a good idea to check for cracks. Also, a wonderbar is a good investment. Read up on all the good stuff here for more information.
