I'm just finishing mine up. I used 1 1/2" by 2 1/2" by 1/8" tubing. They are about 5 1/2 feet long each side with a 2 foot piece going from the middle to to front subframe at the transmission mount. Have fun!!

Unless you have a mig welder and a band saw, don't even attempt this project. The tubing and material for the 3/16" gussets cost me about $50.00. You won't save much by making your own. I have the equipment and I enjoy doing stuff like this. If you want to save yourself money, buy some quality sfc and have them installed. The best way to save money is by preparing the car for the welder. Removing the cats sure made them easier to weld on (I have dual cats and there's hardly room to get in there with the welder). Grinding the paint where the weld is to be made is another thing you can do. Welding a few gussets at the attachment points is a little extra thing that can be done by the welder that will greatly enhance the strength of the sfc. Hope this helps you out.
