Lowering springs at full droop

When I do front end work and raise the car up on jack stands and the suspension is in full droop, the springs get loose enough to move slightly out of the top perch. Has anyone else seen issues with lowering springs popping out of the top perch at full droop? After lowering the car and driving I hear a loud ping/pop sound when the spring goes back into the perch. I've heard limiting straps might help. Here's the set up:
  • 89 Camaro RS convertible 80k miles
  • 5.0 TBI /w 700 R4
  • Energy suspension sway bar links front and rear
  • UMI lower control arms in the front
  • Lowering springs 1.5 inch
  • KYB AGX shocks adjustable front struts
  • Stock rear end 2.73 gears
Thanks!
Pete

My weight jacks do that also. Its just something to watch as you put the weight back on the tires.

Happens with the rear, but not the front springs. Weight jacks also.
