Is something broke?

I have a 700R4 tranny in my 82 Z28 When my car shifts from first to second under any type of acceleration it spins the tires, hard acceleration it spins them hard, light just chirps them. When this happens especially under hard acceleration the tire spinning is accompanied by a loud banging noise which sounds like it's coming from the rear axle .(not inside the axle, but more like the axle is trying to move) In addition to the noise and tire spinning the car feels like it's trying to jump to the driver side and kind of like the passenger side rear tire is trying to push itself backwards. The total effect is that under hard acceleration from first to second the tires spin, you hear a loud bang your head is whipped just about into the window and it feels like the passenger side rear tire is trying to push backwards. This is my second rear end, I blew the first one up.

Thanks Silkworm

You should put this on the tech board and drivetrain board.

Check the motor mount's and tranny mount. Also check the rear end bushings and fastener tightness. Beyond that, look at the alignment of the driveshaft/trans/rear. And also check the tans crossmember to make sure it's not cracked.
