I have a 92 RS with 305 TBI and it has only 45k miles on it!! It's really a pain in the 'neck' to lock the wheels, I changed the front pads, but the brake pedal has a spongy feel, I m not able to explain in a better way, so does anyone have the same problem and also does changing the rubber lines with steel braided lines help solve this problem?
The other thing is, this car also looks like having a taller stance on the left side and shorter stance on the right!! I just measured it with my fingers and on right side I can only insert 3 fingers on the back and on the left I can insert 4 fingures above the wheel before they touch the body, any suggestions, suspension feels soft and everything is basically stock, nothing has been chagedexcept for the tires it runs on 245/50-16 tires!! Is this due to the car showing its age or what? and wil there be a noticeable difference in "feel" if I change the rubber bushings for the sway bar and some other suspension components? sugesstions appreciated!!

The coil springs control ride hieght. They are probably beat, but the difference could also be the insulator above the spring that fits against the body. The soft ride is the shocks and struts as well as the springs. Poly bushings are great for a driver, and only squeek and bind if you don't keep them lubed. They make a huge improvement. The brake problem could be a few things, such as air in the system, water in the system, master cylinder, back brakes out of adjustment, or hoses. First change the fluid and bleed them, since it's the cheapest and most likely. Steel hoses only really help during quickly applied braking, such as panic stops. After the initial application of the brakes there is little difference. Plus some steel hoses are not even DOT approved.

1LE brakes solved a similar problem in my car.

If your brakes are spongy you either have air int the system and they need to be bled or your flexible hoses have gone soft and need to be replaced.Originally posted by vinay
