I would like to convert my F Body to a manual steering setup. Does anyone know of a steering box that will bolt up to the third gen F Body. I can't locate a manual steering Bird or Camaro in the local bone yards, so I thought I'd see if anyone knew of anything that will work.

 

Look for an S10 or S15 with a 4 cyl engine. They usually have manual boxes and they bolt right in.

 

Thanks for the info, Stephen! Does the F Body Pittman Arm (or is it the idler arm???) need to be changed to that of the S Trucks also, or can I retain the F Body's.

The S truck's pitman arm has a slightly different angle. You can use it if you have to but I'd suggest using the f-body's pitman arm.
