C5 Wheels?
C5 Wheels?
I have 2 1/4" spacers up front and 1 1/2" spacers in the back. Would I be able to run the thick spoke C5 wheels that are 17x8.5 in front and 18x9.5 in back? I know everyone says to run 2" all the way around. Would it rub alot? Are all C5 rims the same offset? If not are there any other C5 wheels that would fit?
I looked on skultes page and it said to use 2" all the way around for C5 and 4th gen 16x8's(which I'm using now). So my logic says the C5 wheels should work. Also I looked on www.camaroz28.com and there are a couple 4th gens running C5 wheels without spacers.

I can't give you a definate yes or no, but I can tell you this;
The rear wheels on the C5 (18 x 9.5) have a one inch greater backspacing (I'm using the distance from where the wheel mounts to the hub, to the inner lip of the rim) than a stock 16 x 8 4th gen rim. So, you may be able to use your same spacers, but see how much room you have to spare in the back. The front will be fine, as the backspacing is only a 1/4" more on the C5 rims for the front.

thank you
But what doesn't make sense to me is there are 4th gen camaros running the C5 wheels with no spacers in the back. So my logic says I should be able to do the same since my spacers have made my rear end close to what the 4th gen rear is.

good luck with your wheels. Do you already have the wheels? If not, I have a set of GM C5 (97-99) style, that I could sell you, for $500 + shipping. Let me know. They are true GM wheels, in the 17 x 8.5, and 18 x 9.5 variety. Talk to you later.
