NO BRAKES!! when engine is running..??

hey guys... the car is not on the road but......when the car is not running ..the pedal is hard..when i start the car.. the pedal goes to the floor ..and i hear a hissing sound.......actually like a swooshing sound.... any ideas ????

Your power brake booster is fornicated.

The reason is that your master cylinder got fornicated first, and leaked fluid out its seal, which got onto the diaphragm in the booster and ruined it.

so i need a new master cylinder and a power booster..???

brakes

did you check to see if the vacuum line to the master cyl. is hooked up.... it runs from the manifold to the booster

No, if it were a vacum leak the pedal would be stiffer with the engine running due to lack of boost.

They're about $100 for the set, in fact, most of the time the only way you can even buy a booster is with a new MC attached, because about 90% of the time when the booster goes bad it's because a leaky MC sodomized it.

Just got off the phone with my machanic... he says its not the booster......and that i'm loosing pressure somewhere..???? where could i be loosing pressure???????theres no leaks.....
