The other day I had the front end on stands. I spun the driver side and it spun somewhat freely with a little resistence from the pads. I spun the passenger side next and it spun freely and kept spining, the pads were not touching at all. I thought that the pads were suppose to rub against the rotor a little bit even when the brakes are not applied? I don't experience any pull but it just didn't seem right.

Also I have the single piston caliper type, I've been hearing a clicking noise from the driver side everytime I brake. It's not a continuous clicking while braking it will just make it when I first begin to apply the brakes. I'm thinking maybe it's one of the pads sliding forward when I brake and taping against the caliper. I have removed the pads from the caliper once before and when I reinstalled them I didn't think about those 2 tabs on the outter pad that your suppose to bend up against the caliper. Could this be the reason it makes the clicking noise when I brake, because the tabs are not pressed firmly against the caliper?

 

Well never mind about the noise I just checked it out and it's the strut mount. Wiggled the strut and could hear it tapping side to side on the mount bearing.
