Would a thrown wheel weight cause a car to drift??

My car has been drifting to the right for some time and I haven't been able to figure out why. I thought it was the alignment but they told me it was good. Today I had my front tires off and noticed that the right one doesn't have a weight on it, the same side that the car has been drifting to. I've been told that sometimes it's possable to get a tire that is already perfectly balanced and doesn't require a weight, but I'm not sure if this is one of those or if I threw the weight. I know an unbalanced tire usually causes vibrations but I can't really tell if the vibrations I'm feeling are from the tire or the add-ons I've installed on my car. All I can say is the car drifts quite a bit to the right.

Ya know, right off I wouldn't think it would cause more than a vibe but as you know on these boards we learn something every day. I'd be interested to know the answer.

YOUR CAR DRIFTS NOW!? MINE TOO!!!! LOOK AT THIS PIC!

haha...I'm guessing the type of drifting your car is doing is the wanting to go to one side thing though.

I had the same problem. After checking all kinds of things I finally discovered that the tire pressure for two opposite tires was way off. Good luck.

Double check the tire pressure. If it's OK, then swap the front tires. If it pulls to other way after the swap, you have a tire problem(could be either tire). What are the alignment specs--it could be within spec and pull to the right. Caster should be a little less on the left side to compensate for the crown of the road. Also, a dragging brake can do it. A missing wheel weight, no. If the missing weight was a problem you would have a vibration.
