pop sounds in suspension

ok when i go slowly over dips in road surfaces, etc, like at the end of the driveway and other places like that i hear a pop under rear of the car, pretty loud too, would end link bushings of the rear bar cause this, or ? i recently had the rear wheels off the car to swap tires off and i inspected everything and pb blasted everything also while i was at it and everything looked good, i remember the end link bushings hanging wayyyyy up above the bracket that they sit in, really far above, dunno if thats normal or not, i left the suspension hanging free when i jacked car up.

sometimes i have a pop in the front too around lower speed turns, etc,
possibly could be a balljoint pop, thats the kind of pop it sounds like, but hear it in the rear mostly, so.... its an 84 and isnt padded well on the floor so can hear that kind of stuff alot more than a newer one, heh, but still....

what ya think ?

anyoen else have the saame sounds, or ever had them ?

thanks

I'm getting a popping sound up front, too on my '84 T/A - the car still has the factory ball joints and lca bushings (~150K on the clock) so I highly suspect that they've finally worn out.

I've also seen a thread where someone was having similar problems and it was suggested that there may be some cracking at the frame near the steering box. I had wondered at first if that was my problem but it seems to me that I hear the noise coming from both wheels.

I'm not sure. I've got some popping / groaning up there on the 84 and everything is new except the idler arm.

So the end links aren't connecting the ends of the anti-sway-bars to the body brackets? I don't know what you mean... but yeah, if one anti-sway-bar link is busted, it could be smacking a bracket with the broken end.
