I have done a search and can not find a answer, but have seen a couple of people that have this in their sig. but they do not responed to emails.
So I have a 87 GTA with the 9-bolt rear end and am wanting to put on the rear 1LE caliphers. Is it just a matter of changing out the mounting bracket on the rear end and the new rotors and caliphers?

Disc, using the PBR calipers and an 11.7" rotor or drum?

 

You are going to need the larger rotors,calipers, new parking brake cable and backing plates. Good luck trying to find the PBR backing plates for the 9 bolt because they were only made in 1989.

 

The only difference between the 10 and 9 bolt rears is the backing plate. Everything else is interchangeable. GM has discontinused the plate so you will have to find it elsewhere.

 

I've got an extra set of 89 9-bolt disc backing plates. Email me if you need them.

 

I currently have disc brakes on the stock 9-bolt in my 87 TA GTA.
Metalifann email is on its way.
