Car pulling on the left when braking

Why would my car pull on the left when I brake?
When I am not braking it goes straight but as soon as I touch the brakes, it goes on the left. The harder I brake, the more it goes on the left.
I have changed the pads, the calipers, brakes lines, suspension looks good but I am not absolutely sure, (which part of it should I check?)
What do you think is the cause of this?

Thanks for your answers,

Jacques.

Obviously, Your left Caliper is pulling harder than your right caliper...

Causes of this ?

Collapsed Lines, Crap in the lines, faulty caliper, Air in the lines... ect

You say you replaced the rubber lines, Good start. that would have been My first guess.

I ASSume you Bled the brakes after you did, correct ?

Make quadruple sur eyou got ALL the air out of there.

If that fails Id start thinking about taking a day off and blowing some compressed air through all the brake lines, make sure nothing is too Gummed up In there.

Its kinda hard to test this stuff, Other than be replacing it and seeing if it goes away.

Maybe its just time for a 1LE upgrade, Before you spend money on all new crap-o-brake parts.

After double checking all the normal stuff you may want to check to see if the line from the master to the caliper hasn't been damaged somehow. Have you checked to see if the right side pads have any wear ?

Before I changed pads, calipers and lines, the car was already pulling to the left very often but not everytime. Now it is everytime I brake.
The system has been bleeded and the rotors resurfaced when the calipers were put on.
Can it be because one of my rotor is older than the other one?

I will check the condition of the lines fronm the master cylinder to the calipers tomorrow.

Thanks for the answers,

Jacques.

i put new rotors, new calipers, new pad, bleeded the lines, and checked for wear on the hoses. everything works like it should but mine still pulls.

you might want to put the front on jack stands and rotate the tires........then hit the brakes and see if one side stops better than the other;i did that and mine worked fine, otherwise....

do you have any noises when turning the wheel when backing up or at other times?

i do and was told that a bad ball joint can cause all of these problems as well.

i'm currently replacing all the front suspension with new bushings, rods, ball joints, etc. hopefully this will solve the problem as it becomes quite difficult an scary when your car pulls as your trying to stop in traffic.....

let me know if you find a solution to the problem.

The lower ball joints and idler arm have been replaced 8 months ago.
I will try jacking the front end and hit the brakes as you said and see what happens.
You are right, in traffic, when you hit the brakes hard it is kind of scary.

I will let you know if I can figure out what is wrong.

There is surely something to do to have it brake straight.

Jacques.

The Post to check for wear on the rightside is a good one, Look to see the differance in wear between the two sides.

You say it did this before, intermittantly, and Now that you have replaced all the components it doest it everytime ?

IT is also possible that you Need an alignment. Does the car track strait ?

Check that wear, Verify you have pressure to both front calipers, look for obvious kinks or damage to the hardlines.

My car Did the same thing when I got it, It replaced the softlines and It got alot better, I replaced the calipers w/ Used ones and it went away.

Weather that was teh cause or not, I don't know. The system may have just had some residual air.
