im on a pit crew for a Stock car team, i was looking around and noticed that some of the cars have sway bars, but instead of bushings they have washers and bolts. What i was wondering is if i do something like this to my car if it will help it out any, also why do they do this in stock cars

 

Bolted solid it will bind. You can get joints that replace the bushings--it will make the sway bar 'act' like a slightly larger bar. Kinda' like going from rubber to poly bushings.
