Replacing Power steering box, tie rod ends, and ragjoint

Can anyone give me some tips on doing this job that could possibly save me some time? Also, anyone know how much fluid goes into a dry power steering box/pump?

Nobody can help me out? I'm going to try to get this done today after work. When removing the tie-rod ends, is there a sure-fire way to get the new setup to be VERY close to the length of the old ones? Also, I bought the ragjoint from the "Help!" section of O'Rielly, is the universal one going to fit OK, or will it need to be modified?

Well, if you're still working on this, I'll try to help you a little with the tie-rods... As far as a "sure-fire" way to get 'em the same as your old ones, I don't have one, but a suggestion is to remove the inner and outer rods as a set and when you build up the new set, lay them side by side with the old set and make them the same length as close as possible. When I replaced mine, I didn't do it like that, however... I put my steering wheel on center and once I installed the rods, I used a long straight-edge that would touch the front of the tire and aft part of the tire and used it as a reference to stay in-line with the rest of the body, and just adjusted the sleeve until it came in close. Another trick is to count the number of threads exposed on the old rods and do the same with the new ones... Not much help to you on the rag joint, never done one. As for the P/S fluid, it won't take much, just fill it to the "cold" level. Hope this helps, if it's not too late...
