Fuel pressure 305 TBI
Fuel pressure 305 TBI
I was told that my fuel pressure before it goes closed loop is at 6, below the recommended 9. Prognosis is weak fuel pump, causes rough idle and erratic running until computer kicks in. Is this true? Once the computer takes over it runs like a champ.
when my fuel pump was going bad the car would hardly idle and would usually die when you put it in gear. but once it got running it would run and idle..then for 3 months the car ran fine then one day it was dead...no more signs before that just died. fuel pump replacement isnt fun i wouldnt do it unless you really need to try replacing the relay first

To my knowledge, there is no link between the fuel pressure(set at the regulator) and the ECM. Even if there was, if the pressure is good after warm up that would tell you the pump is up to the job. If you have the ability to check the pressure yourself, do so. I am extremely sceptical. There is definitely no link between the ECM and fuel pressure on my car. Pretty sure TBI F-bodies are the same.
