I just got my hands on a 350
Like it says .... my friend is junking his 1970 Monte Carlo and we decided how fun it would be to rip apart the engine and see why the thing never ran right. Well, we have reason to believe this car when swimming cause the oil and water mixed together to form mud everywere ... but i have hopes for it. The gaskets were totally shot and that explains a lot.
Now for the interesting part ... the numbers on the engine when we checked it awhile ago said that it was a 307 and when we got the heads off we measure 4 inches across .... that means its a 350. The integrity of the walls look fine, and it doesnt seem like its warped from the heat. The cam, heads and crank are in good shape and I want to make it TBI and not carb.
What else would i need to change when working on this thing? It has solid lifters (of course), I plan on a new manifold and distributor. The push rods are perfect, rocker arms, and valve springs look good. Anything else I need to know about? Do I have to change anything with the internal setup like the lifters to convert to TBI when I put it in my car??

Edit: another thing that came to mind is with all the sensors. Will they go onto the block?

hes right... the stroke may be shorter. anyways, change the springs, cam, heads if u want a big improvenent (u'll regret not changing them later), and have a machine shop install cam bearings and check it out and makre sure u don't need boring and any other stuff.

theres no where else to go with boring. Theres still SOME walls left but any more I'm thinking will cause problems. Would the accessory bracter and all that be the same mounting locations???
