BAD *** TBI MODS complete!
Well i been reading alot about the TBI mods and i got to admit i was alittle bit affraid to try it at first since my throttle body is on my daily driver which is a 91 chevy silverado (my 86 camaroz28 has carb so thats why i didnt do it on the camaro !). But i went ahead and done it, and i'm glad i did not only does it look a lot sharper with the aluminum polished now it has a greater throttle responce so far that i can tell. I'm taking it on a trip to FLA the next few days so we'll see if the gas milage is anybetter. I also took out that flap inside the breather housing and riveted some sheet metal back over that whole to close it up and keep warm air from getting back in.
I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth on this mod and let you all know what i done that made it seem easier to me and works alot better than an angle grinder or a dremel tool......to cut all that **** off the top and make that all one flat piece i simply put that bitch on a belt sander and sanded her down plane......then i took the dremel with a rough sanding wheel to port the hole open and then went back with a smoother sanding wheel to fix any mess.......then for a finishing touch i used 220 grit sand paper to smooth it up to a almost mirror polished shne........then finally 1000 grit sand paper to give it that mirror polished look............I just put it back on the truck and seems to be working great.........thanks to you guys here at 3rdgen and i look forward to the test you talkin about running on the TBI system in jersey! :hail:
