In response to your first question - yes, the holley is a great unit as far as i'm concerned. It flows more than enough for a mild 350 and as i've experienced, can support one up to at least 5,000 rpm (and thats with the stock ignition). If you're going with cam/intake swap, i'd do the springs at the same time. 5,500 is a lot of rpm for an otherwise stock motor (especially the bottom end). When you start spinning a sbc that fast, balancing and valve float becomes an issue. I'd never want to take a stock crank over 6,000 rpm personally. That's just me.

the motor or that is going in the truck is a 1989 350 4 bolt main out of a one ton truck it will have a set of iron eagle heads (180 cc intakes ports) a comp cam pure nrg cam and the rotating assembly is balanced with a st of KB pistons.

There was some talk some time ago that the injectors on the Holley were poor - but I also recall someone saying that they may now supply better (GM OEM) injectors. Is this correct?

I know a guy with one in a van with a 383. He said it was a huge performance gain and well worth it. You can get them with 3 different injector sizes 55, 62, 85 lb/hr. you have to run an adapter unless you buy or make a 2" bore intake. Have you run it yet, I have a 93'Burban with a vortec 350, I want to run one just looking for feedback.
