First off, I'm not a big fan, but I'm thinking of purchasing a 1990 LO3 Formy b/c it's super clean. I'm not here to hate on TBI's though, and actually have a question.
My goal with whatever I decide to the engine is mid 12's NA. Here's my question:
Is it possible with a heads/cam/upgraded TBI to see 375 flywheel HP? To be honest, from past experiences with TBI, I don't think it's very possible, but my mechanic thinks it is. And whereas I do trust his judgment more than just about anybody's, I don't see it happening. If so, please post your comments. I do realize that computer work will need to be done, and as I am a "everything at once" guy, I'll most likely do everything and take it for dyno tuning.
My other option is going from TBI to TPI, then a 350TPI, then a 350 Stealth Ram...in stages in that order.

I'm not aware of anyone who has taken the stock 2bbl TBI past 330hp NA. I'm not saying its not possible to make 375hp but you would be in uncharted territory which can be frustrating.
If you mean to use the 305 to make 375hp then I don't think its gonna happen. TBI injection runs out of injection time at 5000-5500 and you will have to spin a 305 faster than that to make 375hp.
I think your best bet is to save your money and build a 350 and use the Stealth Ram (if it fits under the Firebird hood) since thats your end goal anyway. Otherwise you will have bought HiPo parts for three different setups which seems to me will be more expensive in the long run.

I didn't think it was possible even though I was planning on replacing the actual TBI unit.
My mechanic's (when I say mechanic, I mean my friend who helps me out working on my car because he's more knowledable, not some guy I'm paying lotsa $$$ to) giving me his TPI setup from a car I found for him because he has a long tube and TPIS setup so I think I'll just convert to a TPI 305.
This may be the wrong area to ask, but is there anywhere that has a full item checklist for the swap? I've seen some swap info but the actual items are scattered throughout. I'd like to make sure I have EVERYTHING, then do the swap.
I do appreciate your guys input. I figured I'd ask you because you all have more experience rather than everyone else who hates TBI in the first place.
