im in the process of rebuilding my l03... i want the lt1 cam and im thinking about getting the 305tpi heads... is this a "direct swap" is there anything else i need to replace... im new at this and dont know much..... should i expect any gains from this???

 

everything is a direct swap on, no problems. the cam will give you very big gains, the heads will help a bit, but they will not be the big part of your gains. while you are rebuiulding it you may wanna see if you can get a little more compression out of it. squeeze the intake charge a little harder and you will see a little more power.

I'm gonna be very curious to see what kind of results you get, because I was thinking of doing the exact same thing. I mean, for what a set of TPI heads and a used LT1 cam costs, why not, you know?

 

if yer gonna put heads/cam, make sure you take care of yer exhaust (headers, i c u have a catback), also, an intake should help...

 

Good point buck, and while the motor is out, now is definately the best possible time for headers. Trust me it will be 10X easier to do it now than later! And the hedmans, y-pipe, and cat delete pipe alone were worth an extra .6 at the track and a major SOTP difference. Compound that with the new motor and you'll be grinnin bigtime
