Guys, I'm a new 92 RS owner in here and already in the past couple of days I've been going dizzy from the various articles I've been reading from all over....

My question is what your opinion is on replacing my TBI system for an LT1 Intake?

I have a 97 Z28 that I built up a 355 LT4, forged the slugs, yadda, yadda, yadda. After replacing my LT1 Intake for my LT4 I held onto my LT1 Intake and would like to use it on my RS if it will help.

It seems obvious that I would have to get some fuel rail covers, injectors, and may have to do some drilling, etc on the LT1 Intake. Though, I'm not sure as I'm still new to this whole TBI system....

Any input, ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

 

Well, putting on an LT1 intake would be cool, but you wouldn't be running the TBI system any more at all. The LT1 is more of a replacement for a TPI setup, so you'd need to convert to a high pressure fuel system, multiport injectors/fuel rails, a TPI computer and possibly wiring harness too.

Unless you mean an LT-1 intake from the old carbed days and running a TBI adaptor? Which would work but I'm sure it dosen't have EGR.

 

Well, I'm not sure exactly what I mean here.... I mean, I had heard from another friend that I could rid of the TBI system and go with my LT1 Intake setup as it would help the system.

As I've said, I'm new to this 3rd Gen world....

What would you choose to do in my situation as far as wanting to help this TBI system out?

Your going to need a TPI setup. Computer, Harness, etc.

Yikes, okay, this seems more complicated than I had imagined....so I'll hold off on any further thoughts on this one until I come to a point where I want to freshen up the motor.

I'd really just like to stick to some easy performance mods that I can make.
