Fuel Pump dead!!!Which one do I get
I finally found out what was wrong with my car and it is the fuel pump. The dealer is doing this because i could not figure out the problem and had it sent to him. Which fuel pump do I get that will bolt right in like the factory unit. Do I get walbro or turbo city? Also does anyone have the link for the walbro pumps?

I wne ahead and just repaced it with another GM unit. It was to much hassle to overnight a new pump just to have them install it with no warrenty. I would have done it myself but than I would have had to tow the car back to my house and jack it up and ...you know how it goes.

Labor is what killed me. They did a lube oil and filter for free and charged me for the tow and it came out to be $825 big ones. I would have done it myself like I do all of my repairs but I could not diagnose this one. The fuel pump was making noise and the injectors were spraying so I thought the pump was ok. Well I was wrong. Now I can't get headers for awhile

When mine went I replaced it myself with a Holley 255LPH (Walbro pump) outa Summit, works great and fits like a charm.

I had my fuel pump go out on me about 3 months ago. I was too lazy to do it myself so i took it to a Goodwrench shop. I paid $450 all together including the GM pump and the $80 tow.

Out of curiosity, what at what milage are your fuel pumps failing? I am debating if I should change mine BEFORE I break down (129,000 miles). The one on my S10 went out at 160,000.
Shifty did they give you a jar of vasaline to? Or just dry? Ouch man thats alot of money for nothing...i had absolutely no car experience and did a fuel pump in a weekend. Cost me 29$ plus a PITA but its alot better than paying what you did. Before I get a 350 Im gonna do it again and replace it with a better pump. You should have at least replaced it with a TPI pump if you plan on modding.

I have been screwed like that once before as well. Hurts like hell but you learn more from those experiences.
I replaced my fuel pump with the Walbro 255lph pump last year while I had the exhaust off for a cat-back upgrade and rear gear change. Its not an easy task but can be done in around 4hrs. So they made their weeks money off of you but they may not have known how to remove a thirdgen gas tank (I didn't either) and charged you for their learning.
I don't think I had much over $800 worth of stuff in my upgrade and I installed Edelbrock TPI headers , 3" cat, 3" catback and 3.42 gears with Zexel Posi and the walbro pump. But I did do all the labor myself.

No way could I afford my car if I didnt do the labor myself. I was getting my car inspected last year and just asked what they charge to change the intake...300$ I said oh ok or i could do it in 2 hours...they just know most people have no clue how to fix a car and you have to get it running again so they give you the shaft
