where is the knock sensor located?

And is there a way to tell if it's bad?

mine only acts up when the car is cold....its like the car goes into convulsions, power, then no power...no smoke, nothing, and no warning light either.

Does it sound like a knock sensor?

If you're knock sensor is bad, all you will hear is knocking.

In any event, it's located in the water jacket drain hole, passenger side of the block and easily accessed between the lower control arm.
