Anyone using a carb to tbi adaptor on a factory carbed 305? I'm looking to swap in an 86 305 into my S-10. Yes its no F-Body but I figured since the 305 is a very common F-Body engine you guys could help. So yeah, any help would be great!!

Intake and TBI
Just use the TBI stock intake and TBI unit.
OR
Do something like I did
Of course modifying an S-10 to a Firebird might take a little work!

I'm looking at swapping the old 305 TBI motor from my 92 Camaro RS into my wife's 91 S10 Blazer. Actually the best source of info on this I've seen is from JTR (Jags That Run) a company that usually specializes in small-block chevy Jag swaps.
http://www.jagsthatrun.com/
They sell a book on Swapping sbc into S10's and another book on GM TBI/TPI motor swapping. Both are loaded with info.
According to them, the easiest swap for an an S10 is a TBI F-body motor. The stock manifolds are the best fitting, and if the S10 came with a 4.3 TBI it's almost a direct swap. The wire harness even works, just change the chip in the computer and bring everything else over from the F-body.
I hear the cheapest TBI adapters for carb intakes are available from P.A.W. in Southern CA.
Hope this helps.

I have a Edelbrock TBI Performer Manifold for sale. I just took it off my S10 actually. $125 plus shipping.

thanx for the responses guys.. The problem is that a TBI intake manifold wont bolt up to Carbed heads.. so if I change the intake I have to change the heads. Otherwise I'd just do that. So the Carb-->TBI adaptor is the easies way to go.

1. the 4 center intake bolts have different angle. You can open up the holes on the intake to match.
2. do a serarch for the adapter.
3. www.turbocity.com has some
4. www.holley.com has some
5. people have made their own.
