holley tbi

I put a holley tbi on the 283 in the jeep I've been working on. The poping thru the tbi is gone. I have a 700-800 idle speed now. Getting a somewhat rich smell from the exhaust pipes. Which way does the adjuster go to lessen the fuel presure? Could a bad coolant temp sender cause this?

YES COOLENT TEMP SENSOR CAN MAKE IT RUN RICH. PLUS YOU MIGHT WANT TO PLAY WITH YOUR TIMING A LITTLE BIT.
