worth it or not?

I figured this out, i paid 2,000 for the car, 2380 in mods will get me to the low 13/12's with the 305 tbi. Now I would also have a 2,000 paint job. Would this car be worth it or should i just drop a 350 in it? The total cost for my completed car will be 6,380. Should I go for it or should I buy another f-bod say an iroc? But for 6,380 I will have a complete car so what you guys think, give me some input, i will be getting it painted gunmetal grey metallic which is the stock color

I say swap in a 350. Unless your Camaro looks like absolute carp, I guess you could just get a "new" IROC.

Also if the only mods you did are the ones in your sig, I doubt that your Camaro will hit 13/12's. I'm betting that it'll only hit the 15's.

But these are just my opinion...I could be wrong...

Can you post pics of your car?

Ok...now I see how you're gonna hit 12's.

But another reason why I think it would be nice to swap in a 350 is that you could use the 305 engine block a glass table stand.

id say save the 4000 some odd dollars and get yourself a good tpi project car to use. Itll be faster then what you have already and you could work on the "project" car wile still haveing your daily driver to kick around. I personally would not like to frequently subject my daily driver to the riggors of the track. After all, it breaks, your walking. Plus, your rear end and transmission wont apreciate what your planning to do to your car. The stock 700R4 isnt the best trans to roll off the line. I put an aneamic 200 hp 350 in font of what i though was a still functional trans and now my 3-4 clutchpacks are slipping and the trans takes forever to shift. Moral of the story, old parts suck. Lets not even mention the weak bottom of the barrel 2.73 grenade-o-matic 10 bolt these cars came with.

It depends on how many miles are on the 305.........Swapping a 350 is cheaper then you would think......

New paint WON'T fix rust......

Ahhhh... welcome the wonderful world of primer. Dont look good but it keeps the corrosion away. Seriously, though, if you wnat to do it right you should strip it clean, fix/fill/replace the rusted sheet metal and prime it, and then go get it painted for a couple of hundred bucks. Not easy but doable. If you really dont care too much, por-15 the rust and prime the bare spots and paint the fixed areas the same color as the car. i wouldnt blow 2k on paint for a daily driver with high miles. You can resell the new motor if you ever choose to get rid of the car but you cant resell the paint.
