Down .2 in the 1/4, but still no 15's ?!?

I shaved .2 off my time to get a 16.064 by putting on the March crank pulley (alternator was already on) and pulled the smog. The only thing else I changed was putting on my spohn LCA's in the lowest Relocater settinga and drop the pinion one degree.

Still haven't broke a damn 15 yet. I pulled .02 faster but, 1.22 mph slower. I pulled my .4 off my 60", to a 2.399. Every aspect was better than my best run, except my mph. I guess I shifted to fast out of 3rd maybe. I think I was in forth for longer than my best run. Need 4.11's, among everything else. I'm not going back out there until I get my 3" exhaust and cat on. That stock 2 1/4 pipe is killing me.

I still have not beat my best time in my 89 TPI, basically stock 700R4 and 3.23 gears. With that setup I was pulling 2.261 R/T's. I was hoping that the new one would be better than that seeing all the suspension crap I got, but in all fairness, the TPI did have the 3" exhaust.

You really need to work on that 60'. The MPH is there, if you can get your short down to 2.10 or even 2.20 you'll see 15.6-15.8.

Maybe it is an altitude thing or something to do with our diminising track, but a similar car with a 350 hit a 2.1 which got him a 15.2.

In fact, I had one run against a GN that pulled a 12.99 on a 1.9 R/T.

The car launched and hooked great, I just do not have the hp (I'm probably still under 200) to pull it any fast I think, w/o at very least changing to 3" exhaust and dialing it in as best I can w/ WinADL.

Im not sure how much the altitude has an affect on the first 60' so I really cant answer that question, but your car is capable of at least a 2.2 60'. Bone stock my car pulled 2.28s without posi and 2.73s on ****ty Goodyear Eagle GA(y)s, although that was at Norwalk which hooks just about better than anything out there. We're 800 feet above see level. The 350 probably had a little higher trap speed and the r/t really has nothing to do with your time. You could sit at the light for 10 minutes then mash it and still run a 13 Although you might not want to try that in risk of pissing everyone off!

if you are only interested in dragstrip efforst with teh car you may wanna drop teh front sway bar and raise the front air pressure at teh track. get teh front tires up to abotu 50psi to help the car get away form the line wiht less rolling resistance and get better roll out down track.
the 60ft is really where it is at. a 2.3 is simply nto gonna cut it unless you are making massive amounts of power to make up for it. i sorta doubt you are gonna see the gains in hp to get the time back since you are livign and racing at more altitude than a lot of us on the board.
to get a good gain out of that cat back, get a good y-pipe made. the factory y is the biggest restriction in the factory exhaust. mopst local shops will make you one for 100-150 from what i have seen. if you can get away with a cat sliminator pipe that will help a lot too.

good luck

Thanx,

Good suggestions. I planning on getting some cheap front runners since I need them for my 83 anyway. What pressure should I run in the rears.
