what should I do?

Alright heres the deal my intake is leaking oil and antifreeze, oil from the rear seal, antifreeze from front. What I am thinking is since i need this time for a edelbrock intake would be a good idea as well as the cam. Now how long of a job is the camjob and how much money would it cost to do the lt1 cam? Money is my issue now. I was just wondering if i fix the stock intake or can i mod the intake to make it flow like an edelbrock?? give me some input. Would it be real hard or a pain if i fix stock one now and do edelbrock later?

Do you plan on doing the swap yourself, or are you looking for a mechanic to do it? I am pretty sure you can reuse everything and just swap the cam in there. You would need new gaskets obviously. Most people put on a new timing chain when doing the swap. You'll want to make sure your lifters are in good shape as well. As far as the intake goes, it would be easiest and best to change it while it is off. I don't think you'll be able to mod it to match an aftermarket manifold either. If your funds are really limited though, you may be able to use a gasket RTV in the spots it is leaking from to help seal it better.

How many miles on those factory valve springs? Just something to think about.

$50 for the cam and $25 for standard timing chain and $20 for timing chain cover gasket kit. So ~ $100 to gain another 30hp and a much better power band.

You still need to buy intake, and throttle body gaskets, oil, oil filter, antifreeze, might as well change the fuel filter too.

Burnouts4ever...You know the labor is free since I will help you if you come down here. I can also get you all the gaskets and everything you need on discount since I work at advance. We should be able to get the cam out in 1 day and get it back in the next. Stock intake sucks...

You want to install those headers while your down here?/
