How you think this will run?
How you think this will run?
Ok the motor I have is a 9C1 LO5 which is originally a TBI motor anyways.
If I loose the carb and put my old distributer back in with a 670cfm TBI and a cop car chip how would it run? would it be drivable until I can start chip burning? Carb sucks in winter and Im really thinking about switching back to TBI. I lost a few sensors but thats about all i will need.
I also have no EGR provision at all on my manifold so I will have to take it outta the chip.
How would the 670cfm TBI, apater plate and holley street dominator intake work out? The SD intake is a TALL dual plane with a power band from idle-7200rpm

There is nothing radical about that setup that would keep TBI from running ok on it. Mild cam, crappy heads, with a good intake on it. The Holley 670 should be a good match for it. Should run ok with stock cop car chip and with a little chip burning run even better.

Kevm14 has the TBI'd 9C1 LO5 in his '93 9C1 Caprice. With a modded exhaust, and a Caddy cold air TBI intake elbow, sewerpipe + cone_filter, and stock 93 copcar ECM, and stock cam, he ran 15.70 @ 85 mph at sea level (but not in winter weather). Reminder: that's in a 4200 lb Caprice. That timeslip works out to approx 230 fwhp and 320 fw ftlbs, both improved from the factory's 205 fwhp and 300 fw ftlbs ratings.
In a 3600 lb (worst case weight) Fcar, that same engine with no more than the same mods, should run at least 0.6 sec quicker, and perhaps as much as 0.8 sec quicker. So you'd be looking at 15.0 range @ around 90-91 mph, doing no more than what Kevin did.
If you mod the engine (cam, TBI improvements, vFPR, ECM, better exhaust, heads) or reduce the car/driver weight, you can run anywhere from under 15 sec to under 14 sec, depending on how much you want to change, how much money you want to sink into the project, and how well you tune the combination with ECM and FPR changes. HTH.
